Hairy Tree Branches Are Cool :)
I took this image at the same time when I was out and about with my long 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. It really does have me looking further afield for photos, as I can get closer to them, and get the compositions I want.
On this photo, I was watching what the late afternoon sun was showing me, and I noticed how it was playing so beautifully on the upper branches of this strange-looking conifer tree. The shapes the branches took were just so interesting with the way they hung down. It reminded me of Spanish moss, which I love. So I composed this shot.
Shot with my 70-200mm lens at f/2.8.

Very nice! I like the contrast between the “hairy” tree branches and the barren tree at the background.
Thanks!
Wow nice

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a tree?

Thank you, Eden.
I like the way that tree looks. And, I am sure I have never see anything like it here.
It was a strange looking tree. I was amazed by it. I hope I see it again someday.
Thanks for the comment, Sandy!
Love the effect.
Thanks, TBM!
If I could have only one lens for my landscape photography, the 70-200 would be it.
The lens is great. I use a wider lens for landscape photography though. But still, this lens — nothing tops it.
Lovely light Katie!!! My sister calls these spooky trees!
Spooky trees! Love it.
Thanks, David!
It sure does look like Spanish Moss; great eye and capture! Love the light and shadows that play across the limbs. Cheers!
Thank you, Steve!

Nice capture of the light on the tree branches. It’s a great time of day to take these type of images.
Yep, late afternoon is a great time to get good light. Thanks, Victoria!
Nice photo…..I say this in a good way, but it reminds me of Snufflelufagus.
I love this, Jennifer. One other person thought the same thing, which is just so cool!
Lovely shot Katie. They also look like seaweeds hanging from a cord. I love the tree peeking in the background.

Cool indeed! I love this shot, and the warmth of the sun really takes this image and makes it special. It’s 0 degrees F here, so the warm sun looks wonderful today! Great photo, Katie.
Keep warm, Jenna! And so glad you like this photo.
It really does look a bit like moss… interesting!
And stunning light, indeed!
Thank you! The tree really did amaze me. I had never seen one like that and it was huge.
I love this shot, Katie. The white in the background, awesome green, and the little sunshine. It’s perfect. Made me smile.
Ah, so glad you like this one, Nandini!
I love hanging mosses. Wonderful image.
Thank you, Ryan!
This is beautiful – reminds me of the “Ents” in Lord of the Rings – the talking trees!
Wonderful! I love those Ents! The talking trees were my favorite part of the series! Thanks so much for the comment!
I love shots that show how the light plays among the branches of trees… I agree, reminds me of Spanish Moss too.
Ah, thank you!
