Something Different — A New Mexican Sunset

New Mexico is known for its views and sunsets. They can be utterly outstanding, but you have to catch the conditions just right. You need the correct mix of sun and clouds and of course the view.

I took this photo within weeks of getting my first DSLR back in 2004.  I was house sitting out in Galisteo, which is about 20-25 miles south of Santa Fe. It’s country out there and just beautiful.  Views everywhere you look, and sunsets can be fabulous.

  2. It looks like a gorgeous place to witness a sunset. Beautiful, soft golden light.

    • It was beautiful staying out that way. The big mountains weren’t so close, so a totally different feel than in Santa Fe, but at least just as magical. Thanks so much for your comment, Mufidah!
