I Caught a Fairy! :)

When I was out earlier this week, I went to visit one of my favorite trees in town. It’s a London Plane Tree down by the (dry) Santa Fe River. The London Plane Tree is a relative of the Sycamore, and they look almost identical. Β And I love Sycamores, so when I first moved to town and found this tree, I was just so happy.

Anyhow, I had done a lot of shooting and found myself near the tree, so I went over to take a break. I looked up at one point, and the afternoon sun was shining through all those glorious leaves, so I started to shoot. The photos really weren’t any good, not the way I wanted them to be, but when I processed the photos, I noticed that there was a little human running/dancing in the photo, where the sun shone through the trees. I had found a FAIRY. πŸ˜‰

So here is my fun photo for a Friday afternoon. Hope you can see a little bit of magic in this photo. (: Have a great weekend!

  1. I like the way lights sparkle.
I saw a fairy and she’s waving! LOL Good picture. πŸ™‚

  2. Cool! πŸ™‚

  3. An interesting play with the light! Luv it!!

  4. I love seeing the faeries. Great photo.

  5. Love the light (& how could anyone NOT see the fairy, or some sort of figure waving LOL). It’s spelt ‘fairy’ in Australia by the way. I often notice common words are spelt differently in different countries (now that I write on the internet).

    • Thanks, Victoria! I was amazed when that little fairy showed up. πŸ™‚ Some type of magic going on. πŸ™‚ In the US, fairy is most commonly spelled the same way, but I’ve seen it the other way also.Feels more old world the other way. Thanks, as always, for your comment!

  6. πŸ™‚ woo! A bit of magic for a sunny day. πŸ™‚ excellent capture.

  7. Very interesting, I could see a female dancing in the picture…. πŸ™‚

  8. Good eye – they are tricky little buggers to catch on film!! : )
    Love the blog Katie!!

  9. Diamonds! πŸ™‚ I clicked a similar picture today (though a totally different surroundings)

    Loved it. πŸ™‚

  10. Great photo! It almost looks as if it is somehow the mirrored image of the scene against water. The blotches of the sun look like the ripples on water. It is very atmospheric; I love it!
