New Mexican Sunset
In the last couple of days, I’ve been going through my professional photos trying to get together ones that I want to put into an online photo gallery. There are so many to go through and narrow it down, and it’s a bit difficult.
I came across this shot I took six years ago, about ten miles outside of Santa Fe, at a house that was then for sale. I had shot the property earlier in the day, but I offered to come back for sunset shots, as the natural environment was just beautiful, and the house was situated so that the rear portal (porch) would get a perfect view of the sunset. And besides, this is the type of shooting I really love. 🙂
I remember it was a hard shot, as I was trying to get the right mix of sun and darkness, and seeing the pond in the distance and yet still getting some detail in the architecture. Plus I had to wait until the sun was in just that perfect sweet spot as it was setting.
In the end, I really like this shot, and I love running into it every once in a while on a search through my computer. It just is classic Santa Fe. This is what people commonly want when they buy their second homes in this area. Those gorgeous sunset views off a rear portal, and then big eastern views of the mountains.
I hope you like this photo too. Have a great weekend!
