A Simple Pretty Flower for a Sunday – 15

Here’s the fifteenth installment of “A Simple Pretty Flower for a Sunday.” If you’d like, you can view all the earlier Sunday flower images/posts on this page.

Last night when I was thinking about what flower photo to post today, my mind just stopped at this one. I had been outside. It felt cold, and we’re supposed to get snow. So this photo just felt right. It’s not one flower, but the group of flowers just feels bright and warm and NOT WINTER. (:

I took this image at my friends’ property in Tesuque, which is just outside of Santa Fe. They have the most beautiful grounds, and the husband has a wonderful way with plants and flowers. I’ve posted other photos from this property before; a recent one being this pretty flower photo.

Hope you have a bright and warm Sunday!

Shot with my 105mm macro lens at f/7.1.

  9. I sometimes forget to take “group shots” of flowers, being so focussed on macro shots. I took some last spring that still remain some of my favourites.

This is truly lovely and very wonderful to post on a Sunday – a fresh start to the week!

  10. Great photo, Katie. I love the shallow depth of field that you obtained with your 7.1 aperture. 🙂

  14. Katie, have you seen the photo contest at newmexico.org? A $10,000 prize.
    Gwen

    • Thanks, Gwen! I looked at that, and if I’m right, you have to have a Facebook account to enter, and I don’t have one. That being said for 10 grand, I may make one up. 🙂 Thank you so much for letting me know about it. I saw a few places that I have already shot before.

  31. Ah Spring! Beautiful clarity on this Katie! It looks like it came from a magazine.

  32. On a grey day when the world is covered with a crunchy blanket of old snow and the brightest colours are the berry stains dropped from the trees by the birds and poop from the dogs missed by owners , it is a joyful thing to see the hues of the beautiful flowers. In case you are wondering i did have a great day outdoors and I love dogs-it is just the ttime of year when, without a fresh blanket of snow, everything is so dirty.

  33. and I was surprised to hear that you get snow in Santa Fevery pretty i too like daisies and appreciate the flower duet video:)

    • Yeah, many people don’t realize that Santa Fe is a pretty strong four season climate with really cold weather sometimes and snow and ice. Glad you like the video, Jane. And thanks as always for your comments!
