A Simple Pretty Flower for a Sunday – 15
Here’s the fifteenth installment of “A Simple Pretty Flower for a Sunday.” If you’d like, you can view all the earlier Sunday flower images/posts on this page.
Last night when I was thinking about what flower photo to post today, my mind just stopped at this one. I had been outside. It felt cold, and we’re supposed to get snow. So this photo just felt right. It’s not one flower, but the group of flowers just feels bright and warm and NOT WINTER. (:
I took this image at my friends’ property in Tesuque, which is just outside of Santa Fe. They have the most beautiful grounds, and the husband has a wonderful way with plants and flowers. I’ve posted other photos from this property before; a recent one being this pretty flower photo.
Hope you have a bright and warm Sunday!
Shot with my 105mm macro lens at f/7.1.

Thanks, Charleen! 🙂
Beautiful little flowers 🙂
Thank you so much, Novroz!
A lovely sight this Sunday morning. 😉
I sometimes forget to take “group shots” of flowers, being so focussed on macro shots. I took some last spring that still remain some of my favourites.
This is truly lovely and very wonderful to post on a Sunday – a fresh start to the week!
I agree. With a macro, sometimes you’re just so focused on details, that you forget about seeing a larger photo. Thanks for your comment, Paula!
Great photo, Katie. I love the shallow depth of field that you obtained with your 7.1 aperture. 🙂
Thanks, Bob! It is amazing with a macro,t hat a f/7.1 still gives you shallow DOF. 🙂
Absolutely wonderful shot Katie!!!
Thanks, Xandi!
REally nice. The purple sets a perfect backdrop for these beauties.
I agree, the purple is what made this photo good I think. Thanks, Mobius!
Very pretty flowers, makes me long for summer…
Thanks, Mats!
Katie, have you seen the photo contest at newmexico.org? A $10,000 prize.
Gwen
Thanks, Gwen! I looked at that, and if I’m right, you have to have a Facebook account to enter, and I don’t have one. That being said for 10 grand, I may make one up. 🙂 Thank you so much for letting me know about it. I saw a few places that I have already shot before.
Love this! The angles and colors are quite pleasing.
Thanks, Adrienne!
How funny – I was watching this beautiful clip “The Flower Duet” music by Lakme, poem by Gibran, when your post came through! A beautiful, simple photo.
Ah, thanks! And thanks for the clip. Loved it! 🙂
This one is pretty, but then, they all have been. Is there anything blooming there this time of year?
Beautiful, Katie. I love your flower photos 🙂
Thanks, Nicole! 🙂
A very beautiful picture.
Thanks, Walking-Girl! 🙂
This may be my new favorite flower post by you, Katie! The rich colors and softness of this instantly make me smile. It’s a beauty, it really is.

I love this pic. I’m a great fan of daisies. Hard to imagine seeing them and then getting snow.
Actually this was taken back in September. So long gone. I can’t wait until Spring to see things start to bloom again there. 🙂 Thanks for the comment, Victoria!
I love daisies and I love purple. THIS IS AWESOME!
Thanks, Bonnie!
Oh, the bright white and yellow are wonderful in contrast with the lovely purple and green here.
Thanks for noticing those things! 🙂
I love your Sunday Flowers! They make me smile.
Thanks, Helen! 🙂
Ah Spring! Beautiful clarity on this Katie! It looks like it came from a magazine.
Thanks, Jennifer! 🙂
On a grey day when the world is covered with a crunchy blanket of old snow and the brightest colours are the berry stains dropped from the trees by the birds and poop from the dogs missed by owners , it is a joyful thing to see the hues of the beautiful flowers. In case you are wondering i did have a great day outdoors and I love dogs-it is just the ttime of year when, without a fresh blanket of snow, everything is so dirty.
Love your comment, Jane. Glad you had a great day outdoors! 🙂
and I was surprised to hear that you get snow in Santa Fevery pretty i too like daisies and appreciate the flower duet video:)
Yeah, many people don’t realize that Santa Fe is a pretty strong four season climate with really cold weather sometimes and snow and ice. Glad you like the video, Jane. And thanks as always for your comments!
Gorgeous!!! And the purple really sets it up!
Thank you, Shannon!
Beautiful. I love the deeper color in the background.
