A Simple Pretty Flower for a Sunday – 17

Here’s the 17th  installment of “A Simple Pretty Flower for a Sunday.” If you’d like, you can view all the earlier Sunday flower images/posts on this page.

I love this image. I had a pot of Dahlberg Golden Fleece Daisies near an outdoor chair this past summer. They were a late replacement for some Johnny Jump Ups that just didn’t make it through the severe winter last year.

I was so sad that the Johnny Jump Ups didn’t make it, but these daisies were just wonderful in their brightness. They are tiny; the flowers are only 1/2 inch wide and there is a profusion of them. I had to really work to isolate good photo compositions with so many flowers. And I kept trying, as I was just so pleased with what they gave me.

This is a photo where one flower had reached up and just over my yellow chair. I really liked that detail in this with the other two photos hanging back.

Here’s hoping those daisies re-seed themselves and I see them again next summer. (:

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Shot with my 105mm macro lens at f/18.

  18. Although purple is my favourite colour, in flowers and in all things, yellow is simply the most cheerful of colours. As our day is clouding over, this is a day brightener for sure!

  34. Beautiful happy flowers 🙂

  35. Lovely daisy! I am struggling still to shot yellow color of some flowers 😀

  36. Happy yellow! Whatever that beige thing is behind the focused flower, adds a lot to the overall ‘color impact’ of the yellow flowers. It’s a great background that enhances the image, is what I’m trying to say. 🙂 So, great composition getting that in there.

  37. Amazing how a picture could change how you feel, amazing photo!
