Portrait of a Leaf – 11 – Just over the Line
Time for another portrait of a leaf. If you’d like to see the other portraits of leaves, you can see them at Portrait of a Leaf.
Ah, I miss the sun of winter. Even in early afternoon, I could still get some shots I liked. But now, the sun is just too bright again. Ah well.
Anyhow, this leaf was found in late December. Just sitting there, like she was resting after crossing over the line in the sidewalk.
Well done, my leaf friend, you made it! (:
Shot with my 105mm macro lens at f/4,5.

Thanks! And thanks for the link to your blog. I’ll go have a look! 🙂
Great symmetry!
Nice photo and nice title! 🙂
nice composition and earthy palette
Sometimes simple really IS better. Great composition, texture, and lighting on this one Katie.
I see her strolling along a path. Love it.
Wonderful photo, and I loved your interpretation of it.
Great composition on this one – I really like it.
(and I can relate to the glaring sun spoiling shots too).
So beautiful. And even though the leaf is dry, the photo has a “freshness” in it. Beautiful shot! 🙂
She’s a daring thing, this blowing leaf.
Great shot. I like e leaf against the line – nice contrast.
love how you captured the shadow 🙂
Very god Katie. I like the idea that she has finished a race, I hope she did herself proud… seems like it may have been one of a personal nature… she did this for herself 🙂
Oh that’s nice, Katie, that’s very beautiful indeed – Minimalist and very well seen. I could easily live with that on my wall. Adrian
I just discovered your blog, Katie. I like the simplicity of your posts as well as the experimental nature of many of them. I have nominated you for the Sunshine Blog Award. You can read about it here: http://skip22037.wordpress.com/blog-2/
Like the composition and rustic look of the whole image!
Cheers
