Fairies Are Just So Cool ….
I was out yesterday, and I noticed that my favorite fairy had been placed on the outside of a fence instead of on the inside. I was so excited! I love this guy, but I’ve never been able to get in close enough to get an interesting shot.
I don’t know the story behind this fairy, as he most definitely isn’t the squeaky clean kind of fairy. This one has some scrapes and bruises on him. Much more interesting, if you ask me. 🙂
I’m going to go back and take more photos of this guy, as it was getting dark, and I was using higher ISO’s and slower shutter speeds than I like to. But still, I really like this shot.
And if I needed a fairy on my side, this is the one I’d go to. Â (:

Novroz has written a wonderful short story for this fairy, so please take a look here.

Ooo, I like that. The soft focus on the background works VERY well. gives it a very surreal feel. I’m predicting that your next shot done with a bit more light will be extraordinary. Good find!

Oh, I really like it. Looks pretty mischievous to me and I wouldn’t want to annoy him.
I like the shallow depth field, I feel like he’s jumping out with the intention of biting me on the nose.
Syncopated Eyeball said this on December 6, 2011 at 7:38 am |
He does look mischevious! Maybe that’s why I feel a kindred spirit to him? 🙂 To me, it looks like he’s just returned from some fighting (and I’d hate to see the other guy). 🙂 Thanks for your comment, Syncy!

This is a great capture, Katie! Wonderful use of shallow DoF, and the ‘expression’ on his face is priceless. Great work!!

Katie, this is a haunting and memorable shot! At first glance, it looks like his eyes are closed, but as I look deeper, I get the feeling that he’s looking straight at/into me. Beautifully done!

I’m not sure if he just wasn’t made that way with those scratches, etc. It kind of is confusing. That’s probably why I like it. 🙂 Thanks for your comment, Nandini!

I’ve come back to look at this photo about 4 times today. I really like it! Is it an actual sculpture, or a face you saw in something that wasn’t intended to be a face? Either way, this is a great photo!
